Dara lives in the department of Petén with her mother and five siblings. She has hydrocephalus, which has caused significant cognitive delays and limited mobility. Her health has been more or less stable recently, but she has slowly been losing weight. As a single mom of six without a steady income, Dara’s mother is not always able to provide for Dara’s additional needs while still keeping food in the house. Therefore, we have been begun providing Dara with nutrition supplements and diapers each month.
