Joshua & Kelly Tucker

Joshua & Kelly Tucker are from Pennsylvania and joined Hope for Home in Guatemala in 2020. Joshua was friends with Daryl & Wanda Fulp before they moved to Guate and always appreciated the Fulps’ heart for children with special needs. Joshua & Kelly were excited to join the ministry as the first ever Sustainability Coordinators. They began by developing a half-acre rental property into a garden where they produced nutrient-dense vegetables and herbs for the children in the group homes. After a flood destroyed the garden, the Lord opened an opportunity for them to facilitate some important restructuring of the ministry on the ground in Guatemala. This led to Kelly spending a year and a half as Director of Missionary Care, before stepping back from ministry work in 2026 to focus on their three children. She continues to facilitate regular team meetings where she is passionate about creating space for healthy communication and creative problem-solving. And she still loves gardening and how it can be used as a discipleship tool one day and her own personal therapy the next.
Joshua is McGyver, minus the mullet. His carpentry experience and engineering degree now come in handy in his role as the General Property Manager at Community of Hope, the ministry base currently under development. He also has a deep heart for the men he meets on the street. In 2026 he began renting a small workshop near their home where he can woodwork while being available to the addicts he knows. His goal is to give them hope as he gets to know them, providing a patient, listening ear on their journey or an apple and a break from the sun. Besides keeping up with their kiddos, they also serve on Hope for Home’s Board in Guatemala, are excited about the small group they help to host in their home and enjoy the natural conversations that develop with people as they walk around town, always on the lookout for the best avocados.
