Stevie & Carissa Chapin

Carissa and Stevie Chapin are a couple whose love story began on November 3rd, 2017, which was the commencement of a journey filled with love, compassion, and a shared commitment to a unique family vision. In their daily lives, Carissa and Stevie wear the hats of directors of a unique home for children with special needs. However, their home distinguishes itself by operating more like a foster home than an institution, reflecting the couple’s deep-rooted belief in creating a nurturing environment. In this vibrant household, they proudly serve as parents to 10 incredible children. The family includes an adult daughter who has transitioned to the ministry’s adult home but continues to be a part of the family’s life through semi-regular visits. Alongside 8 foster kids, the Chapin family includes one biological child, with another on the way, embracing the joys and challenges of a blended and growing family. The Chapins are supported by a dedicated team of three wonderful staff members who lend their skills to childcare, therapy, cooking, and cleaning on weekdays. The couple values the importance of family time, reserving evenings and weekends for shared experiences and quality moments.
Family values for Carissa and Stevie are centered around spending time together, reveling in the joy of music and movies. Their eclectic taste spans 80’s rock, David Crowder, Rend Collective, and Christmas music. As a self-proclaimed family of nerds, their collective passion extends to all things Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars, creating a home filled with laughter, imagination, and shared interests. Looking ahead, the Chapins embrace a future guided by faith and an openness to the unknown. Candid about not having concrete plans, they find contentment in the present, enjoying the richness of their family. While acknowledging occasional feelings of being “maxed out” in their current space, Carissa and Stevie trust in divine timing for their future. Their only foreseeable plan is to wait patiently until they can build a more permanent home at Hope for Home’s planned Community of Hope, an endeavor that symbolizes their enduring commitment to their unique family and the impactful work they do.
