Jasmin lives in the department of Petén with her family. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy after a complicated birth – she has an identical twin sister. Jasmin is wheelchair-bound, and in February 2026 she had an unexpected seizure episode that left her unresponsive. She spent time in ICU and multiple weeks in the hospital afterwards. She is now taking an anti-seizure medication, but her family’s limited income is not sufficient to cover the cost of the medication.
